What
is a Family Practice?
Family Practice is the medical specialty
that provides comprehensive primary medical care for all members of a
family regardless of age, sex or the nature of their illness. It is unique
in that it is concerned with the family as a unit and with family members
interactions as these may effect their health. Family practitioners are
trained in Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Orthopedics, Geriatrics, Obstetrics,
Gynecology, Office Surgery, Psychiatry and Sex and Family Counseling.
Many of us provide prenatal care, attend deliveries, and care for newborns.
